To ensure optimal results, make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of grease and penetrating substances. Remove any loose coats of old paint or lacquer and lightly sand in between coats.

DIY Cottage Color Paint dries quickly, with the first coat taking approximately 12 hours to dry before sanding and the second coat becoming touch dry after just 1 hour, depending on the temperature. If necessary, spot priming or a third coat may be required for a stronger color difference, but generally, one coat is sufficient.
